Fall 2012 – Recently I resurrected THE RYDER, a fantasy adventure I wrote and published in 1991. Here’s the original 90’s cover.
I used acrylic paint on canvas and had it professionally photographed for the cover.
- Here’s the updated 2012 digitally designed book cover for THE RYDER.
The original Ryder can be found on Amazon
My intention is to make the new version available on Amazon as well.

2011 – December – Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year to all my visitors.
My daughter and I made nativity scenes this year. We used doweling for the bodies, wooden balls for heads, solid copper covered wire for arms, and decked them with cloth and beads. The sheep are made of wool material with leather heads and ears. Baby Jesus is made out of nylon and stuffing, and wrapped in swaddling cloth.

Yes, life drawing, or drawing real life can be a little intimidating at first.
Once you get used to having people hang around you as you sketch, this exercise can be a lot of fun.
There’s a real satisfaction I get from not caring what someone else thinks.
Something else happens…
You get better at it.!

November 24, 2008 – my first post in my new blog
THE WEALTHY ARTIST
I probably caught your attention with “The Wealthy Artist” title .
You’re wondering right now if I am really wealthy, and, just how wealthy I am, or if it’s wishful thinking. God has blessed me with many artist friends and family, who inspire, encourage and motive me. That alone makes me a “Wealthy Artist.”
My motto “Treasures are found in simple things”.
To the right – Jed’s Jam in Mill Lake park (Abbotsford) this summer during Art in the Park days. I enjoyed the absolutely perfect day, sketching and listening to bluegrass all afternoon.
Since then I often join them at Seven Blends Coffee and Bistro where they meet every Wed. 6:30 PM – 9:30 PM.
Come on out if you like bluegrass, good company, and good coffee. I guarantee you’ll want to come back.
I invite you to visit my websites http://www.wachsmannstudios.com
You can also check out my ART BLOG at http://www.wachsmannstudios.com/blog
Some of my artist friends are writers, some are musicians and some are painters, some create in the kitchen, some are photographers, and others tell stories.
I belong to a group of visual artists called the Central Fraser Valley Graphic Guild in Abbotsford, British Columbia. I think we are starting to be noticed in our little city.
If you experienced the “Plein Aire” ( painting in the open air) and the “Art in the Park” events this summer you would know who we are. I intend to keep you posted as to our whereabouts and any new shows scheduled.
If you like to paint, or have thought about getting inspired because you’ve always wanted to paint, check out this website for information. http://www.geocities.com/graphicguild
